Bio: Dr. Robin Lee has over seventeen years of experience in education as a teacher, faculty member, and career planning specialist. Dr. Lee has written several articles related to career development and higher education in a number of publications and online resources, including Fast Company and Monster.com. Currently, she is working as a full-time consultant in career development, higher education and student success initiatives. She has previously served as the Associate Director of the Career Development Center at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Lee has also been a part-time member of the faculty and taught higher education, career planning and freshman composition courses on the CSULB campus. At CSULB, Dr. Lee was involved with several campus activities relative to global engagement and education. She is a former member of CSULB's International Education Committee, and past chair of the subcommittee charged with coordinating international internships and study abroad for students, as well as funding for faculty teaching and research opportunities. In addition to her work with the International Education Committee, Dr. Lee also served as campus liaison for The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC). In this capacity, Lee acted as both campus recruiter and adviser for students wishing to participate in TWC's Washington DC-based program, as well as its many international programs. In this regard, Lee was recognized by TWC for her assistance in successfully recruiting a record number of students for participation in the TWC's US-China Bilateral Trade Internship Program. Dr. Lee has conducted numerous presentations on career development, education and student leadership issues at several national and regional conferences. She has served as consultant for the Chronicle of Higher Education, Monster.com, MyCoolCareer.com, ThirdCity.org, and a host of career-related websites and blogs. Additionally, Lee has served as a member of several local government and corporate boards, including the City of Long Beach, Wells Fargo, and Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Dr. Lee has received a number of distinctions and awards, and has held membership with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the National Women's Political Caucus and the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE). She is also the former president of the Association of Pan African Doctoral Scholars (APADS) - a non-profit organization geared toward mentoring doctoral students. Most recently, Dr. Lee became a Fulbright Fellow awardee and served as part of a delegation of university administrators visiting Germany to study first-year student retention issues. Dr. Lee received a bachelor's degree in Economics from Eastern Michigan University; a master's degree in Education from Wayne State University; and, a doctorate in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
